Championing Childhood

For almost 20 years, I have had the privilege of being involved with Nurtury Early Education, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming childcare and narrowing the achievement gap for children from low-income families. Since its founding in 1878, Nurtury has been providing essential early education to over 1,100 children annually across Greater Boston, and I am once again honored to be using my Ironman competition to support their important mission.

This year, on May 4th, 2025, I will be competing in the Ironman in Venice, Italy and I am excited to raise funds for Nurtury's ongoing efforts to enhance its educational services for the children and families it serves. Specifically, we are focusing on continuing to support their work in strengthening and expanding their Family Child Care system, which supports over 150 women-led small businesses in our local communities. These small businesses—many of which are run by women of color and immigrant families—are critical to the childcare landscape, and Nurtury’s network provides them with the resources, professional development, and infrastructure they need to succeed.

As with past races, I am committed to matching every dollar pledged to sponsor my race. Your generous support will directly benefit Nurtury’s mission and help these amazing children get the high-quality care and education they deserve.

Why Nurtury’s Work Matters: Nurtury Early Education’s work is vital in leveling the playing field for children in low-income families, particularly through their early learning centers and Family Child Care system. By providing access to early care and education, Nurtury helps ensure children’s school readiness and lifelong learning. Their educators and staff have a deep and lasting impact on the lives of children and families, particularly those from historically marginalized communities.
